The Tour of Hope just started this week, a 5,000 mile journey across Canada in the Ford F-250 Econoline van that Terry Fox used in his own heroic journey across the nation. After Terry's run ended, the van was sold and it ended up in Ontario for years, then a Vancouver heavy metal band bought it. It was most likely headed to the wreckers when it was discovered a couple of years ago by a chance encounter at a house party. Ford Canada fully restored it to it's original condition. It's in Newfoundland now, driven part of the way by Terry's brother Fred and other family and friends. After raising money and awareness for the Terry Fox foundation, it should end up in Victoria September 12th. Victoria's Rob Reid was involved in making this all happen.
